Bernard has enjoyed a career encompassing senior management and leadership roles in private, public and voluntary sector organisations. This has given him the skills and knowledge to coordinate operations, manage people and delivery high quality systems in complex, pressured and multi-disciplinary environments.

Throughout his career Bernard has led training and development services. After graduating from Exeter University (with a BA in Theological Studies) he started by delivering personal development programmes in the South West of England to young people not in employment, education or training. This often involved utilising the vast expanse of Dartmoor to train groups in some unusual but beautiful settings! His experience then moved on to facilitating education classes for prisoners and at this time he completed a Training and Development NVQ3.

When he moved to London in 2001 his work focus became more managerial, as he supported front line professionals working with children and young people. This support and facilitation role continued in Manchester when he developed a new volunteering service for Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).

Between 2005 and 2011, Bernard managed a social enterprise within MMU offering capacity building and leadership development services to charities, social enterprises and public agencies. To compliment his work experience he completed  a MSc in Business Management (with a specialism in social entrepreneurship).

More recently, new work opportunities have evolved out of providing leadership development, that have included: in-house team building, advising on Corporate Social Responsibility to businesses, presentations at commissioning conferences, and training / mentoring charities to be more commission and contract ‘ready’. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a life time member of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust and a member of The Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights (a Livery Company in the City of London). Since 2009, Bernard has volunteered as a co-founder and Treasurer for a new street child charity in Zimbabwe, Africa called, ASYM.

Bernard enjoys the opportunity to work with different companies and organisations. In particular he is always seeking to help create the moment when people realise they are capable of achieving far more than they ever thought possible!
